Signs and symptoms of cavities depending on their location and extent initial lesions may cause no symptoms at all. As the decay gets larger, it may lead to:

  • Tooth Sensitivity.
  • Toothache.
  • Visible holes and pits.
  • Discolouration of tooth
  • Pain while chewing.
  • Pain when eating or drinking sweet, old or cold.

When a filling is required, your dentist will remove the decayed tooth material and fill it with the material of your choice.

The most commonly used materials are GIC and Composite.

Composite resin matches the natural colour of the tooth,  is more durable ans is less prone to tooth decay.

Silver Fillings contain over 50% of mercury which is toxic to the human body. Although a very small amount is released, it is best to avoid them and have Healthier alternatives
